Rosalie is an illustrator and author from the mountains of West Virginia. Ever since she was a little girl growing up on her family’s farm, art was her way to quietly observe and document the world around her. And while she was exposed to outdoor activities as a kid, it wasn’t until high school and college that her chronic migraines led her to seek relief on slow, gentle walks outside. She began to form a deep relationship with nature that stems from gratitude and curiosity.

Rosalie’s passions for nature and art officially fused in 2017 when she founded Rosalie Haizlett Illustration and began to create watercolor illustrations featuring the interesting plants and animals that she stumbled upon during her hikes.

When she’s not meandering through the woods in search of new mushrooms and botanicals to illustrate, you can find her practicing her rock climbing skills or learning to play new folk songs on the fiddle. Fun fact: she grew up traveling all over Appalachia in a family band!
