Rebecca Roan is the author of Dragons Get Colds Too, illustrated by Charles Santoso (Bloomsbury) and Charlie and the Octopus, illustrated by Larissa Marantz (Avenue A Books). She is a recipient of the PEN New England Children’s Books Discovery award. She holds a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University and an MA in Children’s Literature and an MFA in Writing for Children from Simmons University.

A former preschool teacher, bookseller, and puppeteer, Rebecca lives in northeastern PA, where she works as Director, Managing Editorial and Publishing Operations at Highlights for Children.
