MICHELLE LIN

Michelle Lin is an illustrator with a background in molecular biology, English literature and law. She works primarily in cut-paper collage, where she blends rich textures, delicate shapes, and colors bright and subtle to create imagined worlds inspired by her Taiwanese-American heritage, her life experiences, and those of her children.

Michelle is a We Need Diverse Book Art Mentorship Finalist (2025) and a PB Rising Star Runner-Up (2025). She designed greeting cards and stationery under Chelleline Cards for ten years. During that time, her cards were carried in over 100 brick-and-mortar locations, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the McCord Museum of Montreal, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri.

In addition to illustrating, Michelle also works as a reading and literacy tutor and as a small business owner. She lives with her husband and two children in Kansas City, Missouri.
