A Midwest native and veteran of Chicago newsrooms, Erin Osmon is a music journalist, critic, author and public speaker whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Billboard, No Depression and numerous other print and digital publications. She is also a monthly contributor to Uncut magazine. Her first book, Jason Molina: Riding with the Ghost, was published in 2017 and named a Best Music Book of the year by Pitchfork. Her book about John Prine’s landmark debut album was published by Bloomsbury’s 33 1/3 series in November 2021. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana University, and a master’s degree in journalism from DePaul University.
