Delia Ruiz is a first generation Latinx author from San Antonio, Texas. Her published works include her forthcoming picture books, Ways Papi Says I Love You (Charlesbridge, spring 2026), My Sister’s Quinceañera (Crown/Smithsonian, summer 2026), and Car Shop Sabadó (Free Spirit, TBD), and her forthcoming board book Moon Chef (Charlesbridge, summer 2026). She received her master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

She currently resides in Puerto Rico with her husband, baby, and pug. Delia hopes to inspire the next generation of writers who also come from immigrant households.
